Just got this in from www.freewebs.com/rmrresin/ . Ron says it's is "loosely" based on the "yellow" 325 excavator. Simple kit, the main drawback is no instructions (will be asking Ron about that), however, it's pretty easy to figure out. Mild flash, but not a problem--you can expect that from resin products. Here's the parts.......... and a few hours later..................... here's the bucket size.... (need to floss between the teeth)

Nice looking excavator there, Jerry. I've heard of RMR's stuff, but I've never bought any of it. Might have to take a closer look now.

The build is pretty easy. Not detailed like the KFS resin, but I think it's well worth the money. I decided to make the boom & bucket operational, so I drilled the holes out (I think you can tell), but the pins in there now are just temporary. Once I'm done with the paint (yes, it will be Cat yellow--bought a rattle can from the Cat dealer), the pins will be replaced with "proper" bushings.

Jim, Before you rush off and spend your money at RMR, see if you can find this at you local hobby shop, or evil bay This is what the RMR excavator was cast off, a kids toy, which retails at around $20 If you look at the resin cast unit, you will see all the injector pin marks, and where the decals where Does it look the same Jerry? with a bit of work they can be made to look like a Cat 325, like the original KFS CAT unit, this is an original with the CAT decals not the generic unit that is sold now, or was sold, these would more suit a Komatsu PC 220

Yep, that looks like it. I'm shooting for the Cat look. I've already got a rattle can of Cat yellow.

Check out the local toys stores, you may find something close in the kids setion Some truck stops and hobby stores carry the New Ray stuff and as stated before, the resin kit is based on the New Ray plastic version. I may try to do a long stick with the 2cd one I have. This will be a nice little scratching job. Tony--I might let you work on it for me ;D ;D ;D . It might not turn out well, but at least I will be able to say " I tried".

Hey Jerry, thanks for the inspiration! I bought one of these on ebay a few years ago and have been contemplating it ever since. I now have the "spark" I needed. Since there where no instructions it was a little confusing but what the heck, what could possibly go wrong!
